About
Bashful Bard repesents the tentative offerings of a writer exploring different themes in my life.
I am most comfortable describing myself as a storyteller. I enjoy a good story and I like telling good stories.
I’d like to think you’ll be able to either read them out loud to someone. Often when I write I’ll read a passage out loud to test how it sounds. Don’t know if this is strange or not.
The childrens’ series is inspired by research I am doing with my family history. Extemporaneous is typically in response to a question like, “what if?” Sometimes I’ll be inspired by an unusual name or an interesting face and make up a story, a mystery.
Why am I writing? At the age of 47, questioning my career, I did some testing that revealed strong linguistic and visual aptitude. No surprise, just not terribly practical with two kids headed to college. But it rang true and that nagging feeling wouldn’t go away. I decided to nurture the calling and took some writing courses and began writing in earnest, daily. And now it’s time to take the next step and submit my efforts and see what the universe returns.
You can all be my editors, if you like. Thanks.
